Winter Trunk

The sun slinks down and out

Into me

I’m awake

Feet

In a drumming dream

Competing

With my shadow

Like snow

Caught

In a feather fight

I can’t touch the seasons

But they might

Touch me

The sun slinks down and out

Only speaking

For a special morning

I laugh as dreams pass

With a heat on my back

Faith

Kept in case

Yeah

Remembering

Can help

The forrest fire in a spirit

Climbing into winter trunks

Dining on the lake

Moonlit table cloth

Before the ice breaks

Sunlight come again

Don’t bend on me

The sun slinks down

Beneath my feet

Tonight I will sleep
