Poem 4 skye
Crushed under the sun
We’re walking back to
Boards we’ll sleep on
With words to share
Yes we really care and so
I told you why I am
And you’re jet lagged but understand
Why I cried
I don’t care what I look like
But I like being with you
Running through rain
And your shoes are soggy
With an EBT card and laughing
Laughs too hard
On top of a castle or inside a
museum
Hiking through
illegal brambles
Or up
to my rooftop
and painting your face
waiting for the door
we find the fire escape
You can’t ever find your keys like me
But we would like shrimp and grits
Please
You cut it up
My dearest friend
Life can suck
Sometimes you won’t text me and I won’t text back
you are a fantastic cook and
That lasagna the first night we met
Your long haired boyfriend who was my boyfriends friend
Dana’s cabin in Bellingham
the 8 mile hike
Reach the road
Sweaty and in half our clothes
hitchhiking, wine
and dancing back home
I felt like I had lived it before
